Droid Incredible Receiving Software Update

 

You know the rumoured software update for the Droid Incredible? Well now a handful of Droid Incredible owners are saying that they have got the OTA update for the new software. Even though it is not Froyo, this software update does have some awesome features. These include 3G wifi hotspots (however you will need to pay $20 a month for this), 720p video recording and a new boot up screen. There will also be the Skype app built into the Incredible and some other Verizon software as well.

The update isn't official yet but we should see it roll out to all Droid Incredible's over the next couple of weeks. Even though it is not Froyo, (which we should see on the Droid Incredible later this summer) the update should be a nice welcome to the Incredible and keep it one of the hottest phones on the market this summer.

Droid 2 Is Definitely Coming!

Verizon has just had their summer catalog leaked by Boy Genius Report. But the most important thing seen in the leaked catalog is the sequel to the Motorola Droid (one of Verizon’s most popular devices), which is called the Droid 2. A device which Verizon has not offically announced.

So if this leak is true, we know the confirmed specs of the Motorola Droid 2, which are:

• 1GHz Snapdragon Processor
• 8GB memory card preinstalled
• 5 megapixel camera
• 3G Mobile Hotspot functionality
• Probably Android 2.1 with MotoBlur
• Silver Body

There’s no word on release date yet but ‘coming soon’ has to mean something.

HTC Droid Incredible Gets Rooted

Great news for all the Droid Incredible owners out there who have been waiting since it's launch for it to be rooted. As over the weekend, the Android hackers finally was able bring root access for the Incredible for anyone who want to do this. Even thought the root was available last week, it was a very long-winded and complicated, but now it is a easier process as you only have to follow the instructions.
