Guided Cardboard iPad Folio Case, A New Trend Of Low-Cost Recyclable Accessories?

You heard right, these USA-made corrugated cardboard iPad folio cases designed by cardboard aficionado, Guided, can be yours for $20. With a choice between white and original brown cardboard color, you're the artist in charge of designing and customizing your personal cardboard iPad case. But if you mess up, don't worry because $20 gets you a pack of three! Guided says they've drop tested their cardboard iPad case deeming it protective, and who wouldn't believe them. I mean, your online-purchased valuables are practically shipped inside this stuff. Guided's cardboard iPad folio case is compatible with the iPad 2, 3 and 4 and features Velcro tabs to keep the flap secure as well as two different stand orientations just like any good iPad folio case of its kind.

You'll find all of the expected amenities like a back-facing camera cutout including a dual-opening speaker cutouts. Unfortunately there isn't an iPad mini version of this, but we're sure it'll come soon enough. If you weren't able to flip your left over pizza box into an iPad case, Guided's ready-made cardboard iPad cases are now available exclusively at Apple Pie.

Apple Outs Smart Case For iPad

Apple has released a new iPad accessory today called the Smart Case that's made out of polyurethane and is a hybrid of a Smart Cover and the original iPad Case that protects the iPad from back to front while retaining the thin design of the iPad. The Smart Case folds into a viewing and typing stand just like a Smart Cover and many other third party cases that have come out long ago. Apple's Smart Case for the iPad features integrated button covers and cutouts for all ports including the back facing camera. The magnet-embedded cover automatically wakes and puts the iPad to sleep. Apple's Smart Case fits both the iPad 2 as well as the iPad 3rd Gen and is available now in six vibrant colors for $49.

Fine Grain's Bowden, Sheffield iPad Cases Are Made From Premium Materials

Fine Grain's Bowden and Sheffield iPad cases are handcrafted, protection bliss. These one-of-a-kind stylish cases have a rigid, protective hard shell design with a side loading, ultra-soft felt lined compartment that fits both the new iPad 3rd Gen as well as the iPad 2 and offer complete protection. Both the Bowden and Sheffield cases have the same design concept with the exception of having different materials. Both feature a magnetic closure system in order to keep your iPad secure.

The Bowden (above), is the prestigious model milled from aircraft-grade aluminum, bead-blasted and hard-anodized for a long-lasting, Apple gadget-grade finish. The Bowden also features your choice of hand finished walnut or cherry hardwood trim and black or brown full-grain, chrome-tanned leather. The leather is said to be of the finest quality available, and will naturally wear with use, adding to the unique, natural look of the Bowden.

The Sheffield case on the other hand, is made of milled polycarbonate and comes with your choice of either hand finished cherry or walnut hardwood trim. The Sheffield's cover is cut from 100% natural wool felt, which is incredibly strong and also repels liquids. The Sheffield's bread and butter feature is its ability to be used as a white dry-erase board. This makes the Sheffield perfect for anyone who needs to take temporary notes or sketches without the hassle of carrying around a separate notebook. Unlike the magnetic leather cover on the Bowden, the felt cover can also be used as a stand for propping your iPad at an angle suitable for typing.

There isn't much time left to pre-orders these unfortunately, so you better hurry if you like what you see. Fine Grain's Bowden case is available for $120, and the Sheffield at $100.

Thanks for the tip, Mitch!

4th Design's Amazing 4th iPad 2 Aluminum Bumper Case

You're looking at what possibly is the first ever, tue aluminum bumper case made for the iPad 2. Is it just me or does this look simply stunning? The 4th aluminum bumper for the iPad 2 is made by the same designers who created the favorable Blade aluminum bumper for the iPhone 4 called 4th Design, which are known for their precision and close attention to detail. The 4th aluminum bumper for the iPad 2 is sand blasted for that matte finished look. Creating such a massive aluminum bumper for the iPad 2 is no easy task, but it looks like 4th Design has thought about just everything. The back is fitted with rubber, anti-slip corners so that the back of your iPad 2 won't get scratched up when you set it on a table.

Large cutouts were made to insure easy access to buttons and ports alike. And there are even silicone inner lining that were applied on the inside of the 4th bumper to prevent any potential damage and scratching from being made to the iPad 2's aluminum. This reminds me of ColorWare's Grip, a poor attempt at an aluminum bumper handle for the iPad. If you like the 4th aluminum bumper as much as I do, you can pick one up for $119. Plastic just doesn't cut it anymore.
