MoGo Talk Bluetooth Headset Case Review

MoGo Talk is the first to feature a case for the iPhone 3GS with an integrated Bluetooth headset. The MoGo Talks headset is ultra slim with a thinness of just 5mm. The headset is very light and surprisingly comfortable in the ear, the MoGo Talk comes with very slim ear tips from small to large and they are designed to stay in your ear and do a great job at it too. The ultra slim profile of the headset makes it possible to dock it right into the case that also acts as a dock charger for the headset, the headset clips in very securely but may fall out if not places in correctly. I found that even with the ultra slim design of the headset, when docked into the case it is not 100% flush with the case so setting your iPhone down might scratch the headset. Full review after the cut!

Macessity TrayStation for MacBooks

The TrayStation is a riser stand for your Macbook and it will fit any sized Macbook too. The TrayStation consists of 2 parts, the Station (stand) that is made out of metal and the tray that is made out of clear acrylic, this way you have 2 options for cooling your Macbook, you can use just the tray on a desk or on your lap or you can latch it onto the Station for better viewing. Both the Station and Tray have 4 rubber feet underneath, the Tray has a channel to help ventilate hot air and cool both your lap and your Macbook. The TrayStation does not have any fans and my only drawback i have is that the base (Station) is not made out of aluminum, instead it is heavy metal coated in aluminum color, nothing wrong but it would have been much nice to have anodized aluminum instead. The TrayStation does a nice job keeping the Macbook cooler but also does a great job rising it 6” from your desk. The StayStation is very well designed and does match with other Apple products, a hole in the back acts as a cable management for your power or usb cables. Your also able to only purchase the clear acrylic Tray from Macessity. Price $54.99.

Woodees Wood Earphones w/Mic

The Woodees natural wooden in-ear earphones look great but does wood really sound richer? Well yes, the Woodees do have a nice full and warm sound with deep bass, the wood housing definitely adds a unique natural looking style. The built quality and design is actually really good with nice silver accents and of course the wood with burned in Woodees logos on each ear piece and R/L channel indicators, the wood housing is very well finished with smooth rounded corners to the touch.

The Woodees sound is not crystal clear and the bass can be a little grainy at times. Although the overall sound quality is not bad at all for non audiophiles and certainly a big step up from any of your stock earphones that are provided with iPods and iPhones. The Woodees also feature a built in mic and button control so you can use them as your headset and control your music or videos, a non mic Woodees version is also available for a cheaper price. The Woodees are very light weight and comfortable with 4 paris of silicone ear tips that should provide Noise Cancelation however they do a very poor job at canceling outside noise but will still provide very little noise cancelation. Woodees are compatible with the iPhone 2G, 3G/S, iPod and other smartphones. Included with a pair of Woodees are a shirt clip and a storage pouch.  Price $49.99.

Tech21 iBand V2

The iBand by Tech21 for the iPhone 3G/S features D3o which is an excellent shock absorbing material that offers 134% more impact protection then most other cases, the iBand protects your iPhone all around leaving the front and back exposed however because of the thickness of the iBand you get great lay on the table design for the back and the front of your iPhone. The iBand flexes a little bit and feels hard to the touch but upon impact it will absorb the shock and will distribute it upon itself rather then passing it to your iPhone thanks to the technology of the D3o material. Holding your iPhone while protected by an iBand can be a little weird at first and would take some time getting used to the fit and design.

The iBand does not attract any lint but also does not provide much grip so you will not have a problem sliding your iPhone in and out of your pocket. This iBand is the newer version that now includes cutouts for the iPhone’s buttons but they stay very recessed because of the iBands thickness and it makes it somewhat hard to reach and press the sleep/power button. I would recommend getting a back protection film to go along with the iBand to get the best overall protection. The iBand is a great shock and drop protection for your iPhone while allowing you to show off most of of your iPhone. iBand comes in black and white colors to complement your iPhone.  Price $29.95.

Sena Kutu Leather Sleeve for iPhone 3G 3GS

The Kutu case by Sena has a slim pouch design and is made from fine full grain pebble Italian leather, the Kutu is a very executive and elegant looking case for the iPhone 3G/S with detailed tan colored lining that is very subtle but still adds a lot. The overall quality is very high from the leather to the stitching, Sena is one of the best iPhone leather case makers out there. The Kutu has a very smooth and simple design, the edges are lightly rounded and it is almost identical on both sides apart from one side that had a small and almost unnoticeable embedded logo which I find very nice because it does not take anything away from the overall elegant design, and of course the pull-tab. The Kutu case also features a slim back pocket for an I.D or credit card that is also very well concealed.

So can you dock or charge your iPhone while in the case? Well not really because there is not opening only for the speaker and mic, but it will take you a second to flip your iPhone around and you will be able to charge your iPhone it the case. It is very easy to slide the iPhone into and out of the Kutu, the inside is lined with very soft padding. The Kutu offers great protection while your iPhone stays securely in place but of course some dust or lint will form on top of your iPhone because the of the pouch style top opening. The Kutu is very slim and barely adds any bulk while in your pocket. The Kutu case is available in 3 color options. Price $44.95.

AKG K450 Portable Headphones

The new K450 headphones from AKG are ultra portable well designed and best used for travel. Sound - the K450 have a warm and clear overall sound, the non “bass head” bass sounds great not overpowering at all, very clear and detailed suitable for every music genre. The K450 produce clear detailed highs and lows for your ears to enjoy, you will be happy listening to your full music library with these (K450 do benefit from “Burn-in” time). The K450 are open air and do not isolate any outside noise so keep that in mind when looking for your next new headphones. The built quality is absolutely outstanding, first of all it’s very important for portable headphones to be well made and AKG did a fantastic job on the K450 making them very sturdy and from high quality plastic, they are foldable and get very compact. Comfort can be an issue if your planning on wearing these for long periods of time, you will find your ears start to hurt from the clamping after a few hours however they are very comfortable at first, the headband  has a leather-like padding on the bottom to cushion your head.

The K450 have a nice matte (no rubber coating) non glossy finish so they don’t attract any fingerprints. They come with 2 sets of audio cables that are also replaceable and connect to only one side of the headphones for extra comfort and portability, the wire is very light and short for outside use. Also included is a 2.5mm jack adapter for extra device compatibility and a very high quality and thought out hard shell carry case to store your K450’s if you’d like.  Price $149.95.
